Around Camarillo

Dizdar Park renovation nearing completion
The City of Camarillo is nearing completion on the $9 million renovation of Dizdar Park. The project includes a new plaza, band shell stage, shaded seating areas, updated restrooms, and a new playground.
Construction began in 2024 and the grand opening is scheduled for March 21.
Air quality improving across Ventura County
New data from the Ventura County Air Pollution Control District shows ozone and particulate pollution levels have steadily declined over the past two decades, even as the county’s population has grown.
Ventura County still exceeds some ozone standards during certain times of the year, but long-term air quality trends show significant improvement.
🚀 What’s that boom? Probably a rocket.
SpaceX is planning a Falcon 9 launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base the evening of March 14 or 15, with the launch window opening at 7:37 p.m. The rocket will carry 25 Starlink satellites into orbit.
If skies are clear, the launch may be visible across Ventura County. And if you hear a loud boom shortly afterward, it’s likely the Falcon 9 booster returning and landing on a drone ship in the Pacific.

🍓 Las Posas Berries
One of Camarillo’s sweetest seasonal traditions is back. Las Posas Berries reopened their strawberry stand on March 4th, bringing fresh, locally grown berries back to Las Posas Road.
If you’ve never stopped, it’s a simple setup: a roadside stand selling strawberries picked from nearby fields. But locals swear they’re some of the best strawberries around, especially early in the season.
One tip: they often sell out before closing, so it’s best to go earlier in the day.
2026 Strawberry Stand Hours
Wednesday–Saturday: 10:00am – 4:30pm
Sunday: 10:00am – 3:00pm
(Monday & Tuesday closed)
Cash or local checks only.
